WordPress has a newfangled photo displayer called Mesh. You can put a slide show together using Mesh and we were encouraged to do so for this week’s photo challenge. I can’t get the new-fangled program to do exactly what it’s supposed to do, so I’ll go about this the old-fashioned way.
The challenge: “Today Was a Good Day.”
It seems like the best of good days are vacation days. Yes? So, I’ve stepped back in time to a trip we took to Sedona, AZ a couple of years ago. Can a day get better than a hike, an amazing meal and a sunset? It cannot.
A word about the amazing meal: there is a Southwestern restaurant in Sedona called Elote. It is not uncommon to have to wait an hour for a table. Wait for the table. Elote is Spanish for corn. One of their many specialties is an indescribable warm corn dip. Creamy, cheesy, a little sweet from the corn. I licked the bowl. Literally licked the bowl. Their margaritas are also amazing. I had a cucumber margarita and a ginger margarita. The cucumber was swoon-worthy.
Now I’m craving cucumber margarita and elote dip. Good thing I bought their cookbook! And wrote and asked for the cucumber margarita recipe when it wasn’t in there!
As an aside, the sunset pictures were taken at the Chapel of the Holy Cross.
Looks beautiful. I thought Mesh was for the iphone, which I do not use! Nothing wrong with our good ole’ gallery!

It’s available on PC, too. I just couldn’t quite put all the pieces together.

I think you’ve got an awful lot crammed in 6 short days. 🙂 You could spend an entire week hiking in Sedona alone. I will tell you what a ranger told us when we arrived in Grand Canyon for a day trip and were eager to try to see it all: focus on quality, not quantity. Based upon that advice we spent our entire day walking a total of 5 miles along the rim gaping at the views, rather than spending the day in the car trying to see as much as possible. Enjoy!
